Start here

I work with adults (18+) in Dripping Springs, at the ranch in Wimberley, and by telehealth for adults located in Texas. You don't need to know exactly what you need. That's what the first conversation is for.

How to begin

1. Book a free 20-minute phone consult. We'll talk about what brings you here and whether we're a good fit.

2. Choose a way to work together: weekly sessions, time with the herd, an intensive, or a mix.

3. Get set up. I'll send intake paperwork and, for ranch sessions, the address and what to wear.

Where we meet

Dripping Springs office: individual and family therapy, EMDR and somatic work. Insurance through Alma, or private pay.

The ranch in Wimberley: talk and somatic sessions, equine-assisted sessions and intensives. Private pay.

Telehealth: individual therapy for adults located in Texas. Insurance through Alma, or private pay.

Fees

Office and telehealth sessions: $160

Equine-assisted sessions: from $250 for 60 minutes

Intensives: priced by length and structure; we'll go over it in your consult

I can provide a superbill if you'd like to ask your insurer about out-of-network reimbursement. If you aren't using insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care. Just ask.

Insurance

Insurance through Alma is accepted for sessions at the Dripping Springs office and by telehealth. You can check your coverage at helloalma.com. Sessions at the ranch, including equine work and intensives, are private pay.

Questions people ask

Do I need horse experience? No. Most clients have none, and all the work is on the ground.

Do I have to do equine therapy? No. Most people start with individual therapy. The herd is one option, not a requirement.

What happens in the consult? A short phone call about what's going on, what you're hoping for and how I work. No pressure to book.

Do you see children or teens? I work with adults (18+).

Can I call or text you? The quickest way to reach me is the booking link or email at lara@laralong.com. I check messages during business hours.

For helping professionals

Lunch & Learn at the ranch: therapists, physicians, coaches and other referral partners are invited for a short, experiential introduction to equine-assisted psychotherapy, so you know exactly what you're referring to. Lunch included, small groups. Email lara@laralong.com to be added to the list.
